以前も紹介した、アメリカの海洋研究機関のNOAA Ocean Explorationからの投稿です。
深海調査を行っているときに見つけたツボダイの仲間を発見した時の映像です。
普段、駿河湾で見られるツボダイとはフォルムがだいぶ違っていて、でもツボダイの仲間と言うところは分かり、とても興味深いどうかです。
水深も1660mとなかなか知りえることがない水深の映像で、ビックリです。
魚的にはなんてことない魚なのかもしれませんが…。

Oreo FishHere’s a treat for you — an Oreo fish! We got a very, very close look at this False Boarfish at 1,660 meters (5,446 feet) depth during the second Voyage to the Ridge 2022 expedition. These fish are part of a group of deep-sea fishes that belong to the family Oreostomatidae, commonly referred to as the “oreos.” Despite their “sweet” common name, these fish are known to be aggressive in defending their territory. #October #Halloween: https://oceanexplorer.noaa.gov/news/exploration-extras/22-halloween/welcome.html
